Institutional
Membership
Preferred access, predictable costs, and expert support for your collection.
CMACC Institutional Membership provides nonprofit and public-sector organizations stewarding media art with preferred access to conservation services, consultation, and shared resources.
Membership is designed to support the long-term care of technologically complex artworks while advancing a nonprofit, collaborative model for media art conservation.
-
Institutional Membership is open to nonprofit and public-sector organizations that actively collect, exhibit, or steward media art, including:
Museums and contemporary art institutions
Organizations managing media art installations or performance-based works
Public and private nonprofit collections with significant holdings of video, sound, or software-based artworks
Municipal, state, federal, and tribal entities responsible for media art collections.
If your nonprofit organization is responsible for the long-term care of time-based media artworks, you are eligible to apply.
-
Media artworks require specialized, ongoing care as technologies change. Membership offers a reliable way to access expertise and plan for conservation needs over time.
For most organizations, membership pays for itself as soon as you engage CMACC on a project through discounted service rates, included consultation time, and the elimination of minimum project fees.
Membership also directly supports CMACC’s nonprofit work in conservation services, research, and education, and connects your organization to our growing community of practice: a network of peer institutions navigating similar stewardship, technical, and policy challenges around time-based media art.
